Thank you letter from the Columbus Public Library:
Summer Reading Club is one of those programs that comes around once a year like clockwork. The school-year ends, the summer begins and Summer Reading Club launches throughout our city. We're proud that, with your support, we are able to offer a summer full of reading encouragement and enriching programs that keep kids learning, thinking and reading throughout the summer months. Because in the end, the most important thing about Summer Reading Club is that it helps keep kids' reading skills sharp for the start of the next school year.
As the enclosed report illustrates, over 72,000 readers participated in our "Imagine Your Story Read" Summer Reading Club this year. Thanks to your support, this program touched the lives of kids, teens and adults at all of the Columbus Metropolitan Library locations. In addition to the Final Report, which contains details, highlights and outcomes on this year's Summer Reading Club, you will find some fun photos and a few of the promotional materials used.
More than just numbers, our emphasis on getting - and keeping - kids reading is a strategy near and dear to our hearts and is essential to our work in support of the educational continuum in Columbus. At CML,we are steadfast in our mission to make an impact on children's lives, and Summer Reading Club is an important component of this strategy.
I know I speak for the entire Columbus Metropolitan Library staff when I say thank you to the EWI organization for your generous support of our 2014 Summer Reading Club. We are privileged to have your continued partnership and look forward to working with you again in 2015.
